The good advice in this cartoon is "keep living". In John 10:10 Jesus said "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." That means life to the full, life more abundantly right here, right now. See, we don't have to wait for heaven; when we have Jesus we have heaven here and now...oh yeah and forever too.
As deacons, we are in the business of serving. The Deacon Family Ministry Plan continues to be an effective ministry to the congregation of First Baptist Church. Last month deacons made well over 100 contacts through cards, phone calls, emails, and visits. Some of these contacts were made based on information each deacon has about his families such as birth and anniversary dates. But some times these contact get made because a deacon gets contacted by someone with information requiring a contact. This is a very important part of ministry.
If you are ill or in distress, or you know of a member who is, contact a deacon. Knowing who to contact in those instances is the main reason this page was developed. FBC deacons are great servants, not great mind readers. I promise, if you let them know of a need, they will meet it.
The deacon team on call for March is Team 3 whose members include:
- Don Brodie - Captain 267-7369
- Harold Bentley 263-3050
- Neal Bryant 267-8666
- Dennis Etheredge 264-6334
- Welby Jackson 263-3987
- Vaughn Martin 263-4842
- Earl Newell 263-4664
- Ron Plumlee 263-7824
- Ryan Walker 517-4989

Should you have a need in which one of these fine men could help, feel free to give him a call.
