From the Pastor

What a wonderful Sunday we experienced! It is always a joy to see our children serving the Lord and singing “loud and proud” in their choirs! We have many adults who have given their lives to ministering to our children. Thank you foThe Mother’s Day Out program Sunday night was so encouraging as we were able to see the faces of those precious children testifying of what they are learning about God. Each week on Tuesday and Thursday, our MDO ministers to over 100 children and their families. Tracy Boeker leads her teachers in loving these children. What a great ministry!

This week, our hearts turn to Disciple Now 2010...or DNow as we know it! Sixty young people will be gathering at First Baptist Church this Friday, Saturday and Sunday to focus on their relationship with the Lord. Continue to pray for these young men and women and their leaders as they seek the Father together. You will want to be present in the morning worship this Sunday and witness the powerful movement of God among those participating this weekend.

Speaking of youth, your Youth Minister Search Committee is actively praying for the person the Lord is preparing for our church. This person will have a heart for the youth of our church as well as our communities. I am excited about meeting him/her!   In the meantime, we pray and wait, we seek and listen. This is the time when the Lord prepares us for him/her. This meantime is God’s time to mold and to shape us to join Him in His work among the youth of our community. Remember – it is a journey!

Notes from Marc

Choir:  We are beginning to work on our Easter music during our practice time each week.  It is very difficult for me to plan choir specials and work on special events when a limited amount of you attend the practice time. Please make every effort to attend our Wednesday evening practices so that I can more adequately plan and prepare for up coming services.

Sunday: The choir will not be singing during the morning worship service this Sunday.  The Discipleship Now music leaders will be leading our Sunday morning worship time, so our choir members can be participants in the worship instead of having to be concerned with leading the music portion of the service.  Choir members, please do not miss out on this wonderful opportunity to support our youth and to experience a little of what they enjoyed during their DNow weekend.

Let everything that has breath, Praise the Lord! Ps. 150:6

Marc

 Youth News

Due to your generous donations, the balance our students owe in order to send everyone to youth camp at Glorieta, New Mexico is close to being covered. There are last minute items that need to be purchased, so we are not suggesting that the giving stop. We are so thankful for your gifts that will enable our youth to attend the camp at Glorieta, NM.

This weekend is Disciple Now Weekend. Please pray for our youth. If you came down Sunday morning to get the name of a youth, please remember to pray specifically for them. (If you can help with the preparation of the food on Saturday, please contact Tammi Jones.) Our DNow team will be leading the worship Sunday morning. Please be in attendance to show support for them and our youth. You are the best!
